Local businesses

We've been very grateful over the past 50 years or so that we been in Tunbridge Wells to have had the support of local companies and tradespeople.

Some of our suppliers have provided consistently good service and represent good value for money. We'd like to give something back to them by sharing their details with the rest of the community.

The details are taken from their own websites. If you'd like to be added, please contact the Admin department.

Graham Miller

Graham Miller is one of our part-time support workers and a driving instructor. Previously in the catering business (his family owned a café and a fish and chip shop) Graham trained as a driving instructor 22 years ago. He believes that his driving instructor and support worker roles are complementary. "Both are around helping people to achieve their goals," he says. Graham is teaching one of our residents (pictured with him).

"I love working with people and enjoy teaching them to drive. You couldn't do it if you didn't!" Call him on 01892 524503 or driveinsouthborough@hotmail.co.uk

Claire Palastanga, ceramicist

Apart from being one of our support workers, Claire is also a professional ceramic artist. After graduating from Kent Institute of Art and Design in 2002, with a first-class honours degree in Ceramics, she set up her own studio in Tunbridge Wells.

"My work is selling not only in galleries in the UK but also in the United States, where my work has featured in Elle Decor and The Oprah Magazine. The inspiration for my ceramic art comes from the amazingly vast range of colours, surfaces and forms found in botanical life forms."
